Privacy Policy

Ishi ("the App") is developed by Jacob Hendrik Huisman.

Your privacy matters to us. This document explains how information is handled within the App.

1. Data Collection

The App stores your task input, completed-step history, and achievements log locally on your device. This data is processed locally to provide you with personalized step suggestions and to track your progress.

2. Local-Only Storage

All your data — onboarding answers, achievements, and any text you type into the App — stays on your device. The App does not sync to iCloud, does not upload your data to our servers, and does not share it with any third parties (with the narrow exceptions described in sections 4 and 5 below).

3. Microphone and Speech Recognition

When you tap the mic button to dictate a task, the App uses Apple's Speech framework (SFSpeechRecognizer) to transcribe your voice into text. Depending on your device and language, transcription may happen entirely on-device or may be processed by Apple's servers — Apple's privacy policy describes how that audio is handled. The audio is never stored by us, and the resulting transcript is treated like any other typed input.

To use this feature, the App requires microphone and speech recognition permissions. You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in your iPhone settings.

4. AI Task Breakdown

When you ask the App to break down a task, the text you typed is sent to an AI model to generate three small, calibrated next steps. Only the task text and your effort-level history for that session are sent — your name, email, achievements log, onboarding answers, and any other personal data are not included.

The request is routed through OpenRouter, an AI model gateway, to Google's Gemini API (the model that generates the response). Both providers process the request to produce the response and may temporarily retain it for operational and abuse-prevention purposes, in accordance with their own privacy policies:

The App does not store these requests on our servers. The response (the suggested steps) is shown to you in the App and discarded once you move on.

5. Analytics and Third-Party Services

The App does not use advertising, advertising identifiers, or marketing tracking. We do not run analytics SDKs, crash reporters, or telemetry on your device. Your task text, achievements, and any other personal data are not shared with third parties beyond the narrow integrations described in sections 4 (OpenRouter and Google for AI step generation) and 8 (Web3Forms for feedback transmission).

6. In-App Purchases

The App offers premium features through in-app purchases:

Payment Processing: Apple's App Store manages all payment processing. The App itself never receives or stores payment details, credit card information, or billing addresses.

Subscription Management: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings in the App Store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. For yearly subscriptions, you can cancel during the free trial period to avoid being charged.

Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple according to their refund policy.

7. Notifications

The App may send you local notifications to gently nudge you back to a task or reset. These notifications are scheduled locally on your device and do not require any external services. You can control notification permissions in your iPhone settings and toggle notifications on or off within the App settings.

8. Feedback and Contact

The App provides a feedback feature that allows you to send us messages directly. When you tap "Tell us" or open Support, your message — including any optional name and email address you provide — is transmitted securely to us via a third-party email service (Web3Forms). We only receive the information you choose to include. Your feedback is sent to our email address and is not stored by the third-party service beyond the transmission process.

9. Data Deletion

You can delete your data at any time by deleting the App from your device. All achievements, task input, and any other locally stored data will be permanently deleted when you remove the App.
